The Journey Continues: See You in 2020

Wait for the message!

A new phase of Creative Occupation has begun - the year 2020 and You will be invited - to reconnect again or to connect anew. The South Channel Fort ISLAND will speak to You. The artists will be her messengers.

Here’s a short history of Creative Occupation until now. A group of artists encountered South Channel Fort ISLAND, a man-made island in Port Phillip Bay. It took place back in early 2018. They developed ideas, projects and discoveries in this space. In January of 2019 the action transferred to The Project Space at Deakin Waterfront Geelong for an exhibition and events to embrace the presence of the audience: friends, creatives, art enthusiasts, travellers, and all the curious. If you were there, your memories might be still fresh - did you join in for events and performances, did you see the exhibition?

During the time of this exhibition which channeled the perception of the Island through multiple narratives, sounds, images, and conversations, people sent letters to the Island (Series One Creative Occupation postcards). Later that year (2019) the Island received and returned her responses to postcard senders. If you sent a postcard, I hope you received it with a reply from the Island. If it didn’t come back for some reason claim it via southchannelfort[at]gmail.com Find some conversations and stories on FB https://www.facebook.com/pg/Creative-Occupation-233612310890468/posts/

In 2020 the process continues with anticipations of new discoveries, journeys, connections, messages from the Island, and writing of letters... I hope you will receive or notice an Invitation. A new series of postcards will be released, and if you sent one previously, you will receive a new postcard of Creative Occupation.

See you in 2020.

Creative activities and communication of Creative Occupation contribute to an artistic research relating to curatorial practice.
